NTU Campus Guidelines for Reducing the Use of Disposable Tableware and Bottled Drinking Water
1. Scope of Application:
(1) Meetings, trainings, and events organized by first-level administrative units.
(2) Meetings, trainings, and events held in school offices, buildings, or other campus areas (including those hosted by external parties renting or borrowing venues), must comply with the policy.
2. Official Implementation Date:
Effective from November 1, 2022 (Academic Year 111).
3. When organizing meetings, trainings, or events: Meals should primarily be ordered in reusable containers and with washable tableware (e.g., metal lunchboxes). Alternatively, offer non-plastic packaged meals other than lunchboxes, such as snack boxes, fruit boxes, rice rolls, rice balls, sandwiches, and subs. Drinking water should be supplied via water dispensers or barrelled water/beverages. Participants should be encouraged to bring their own reusable cups as part of green actions to reduce single-use products and support source reduction policies.
4. Since July 2019, NTU has complied with the Taipei City Government’s ban on disposable and melamine tableware.
